Practical tips for innovation management and business ideation
Reinforce that the Business Model Canvas is a tool that will allow them to
validate their business model. With this tool they will work on a business
1 proposition for their business idea observing what differentiates them from
possible competitors, what opportunities they have and what innovation this
new idea brings to the market.
Present other tools that can help participants understand what they have to do
to bring a new idea to life. Explain to participants that the majority of these
2 tools are online, some for free download and others need to be purchased.
Facilitators are advised to read and explore the suggested resources before
presenting them to the learners
3 Use the “Innovation Flowchart”, a tool proposed by Nesta, with the aim to
support innovation design and to develop and growth of an idea.
Replicate this activity by using the “Innovation Flowchart to explain how
4 participants can track their business idea and turning them into a real business
proposal.
Remember to introduce and clearly explain, during the session, all the business
5 lingo that might not be of the knowledge of the participants. Some of these
terms can be value proposition, market values, added value, customer
segments, revenue streams, etc.
